Position: Eline Supervisors

Positions Summary

Responsible for the safe, efficient and successful operations of an IPS Eline Unit, this critical role is responsible for all interactions with both staff and the customer while at the worksite.  Operating as a technical expert, customer service/business development contact, and a supervisor of people, this role is both demanding and rewarding - for both your career aspirations and financially.

 Position Accountabilities and Requirements

  • Accountable for the safe and responsible manner in which IPS operates;
    • Beyond just the worksite, this role is accountable for all pre-planning and the safety of IPS personnel both to, and from, the actual worksite;
  • Accountable for the overall Customer satisfaction with all IPS services and personnel at the site;
  • Perform all IPS cased-hole wireline services and have a complete understanding of the interpretation of those services;
  • Work seamlessly with the sales department to understand and communicate all future customer and market opportunities as identified in the field or on-site;
  • With an emphasis on continuous learning, maintain and advance your knowledge of IPS standards and procedures, as well as to participate in training on the field service methodology, safety, and technical advancements/industry best-practices;
  • In coordination with the IPS Technical Trainer, develop a training and implementation plan for your crew so that additional skills are in continuous development;
  • Report all incidents, accidents and near misses to the Senior Supervisor;
  • Operate a truck winch unit and acquisition systems;
  • Assemble any required tools and ensure that the tools are serviced and that the Unit is ready to operate the next assignment with minimal delay;
  • Responsible for the truck logs and to ensure that inventory is current and accurate;
  • Accountable to record the removal and returning of explosives from the magazine;
  • Prepare accurate field invoices, logs and reports to ensure timeliness of the billing process;
  • Review regular employee job performance reviews and be an active participant in the formal management of the crew with the IPS local Management team
    • Hiring, recommend promotions, development plans, or any necessary discipline actions.

 Professional Requirements and Required Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years as a Wireline operator;
  • Active Blasters Certificate;
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of one or more of the following:
    • Pipe recover, CNL, Coiled Tubing, Logging and/or Perforating
  • Dedicated maintaining compliance and HS&E policies and practices;
    • Beyond compliance, IPS expects HS&E to become and attitude and that it is part of our culture beyond merely following the tasks and steps of a defined process;
  • Experience with documentation, reports, invoicing, inventory, etc;
  • Experience in a supervisor capacity;
    • Hiring new employees, traning, performance appraisals and other duties as required;
  • Experience working directly with customers and a proven ability to handle concerns, issues and questions, potentially in stressful and anxious situations;
  • Superior organization and people skills;
    • Proven ability to motivate and facilitate work within the scope of the customers needs and with the highest quality of service - all while ensuring site safety and compliance with all HS&E policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to safely and responsibly drive one or two axle company vehicles;
    • IPS has strict insurance requirements, and as such, as condition of employment, wireline employees are required to provide and maintain a 'clean' drivers abstract;
  • Must be able to skillfully operate the winch unit and logging panels as well as assemble any tools needed for the job.
