This role demands a large breadth and depth of technical skills coupled with a strong aptitude for merging operational needs with the demands, restrictions, and potentials of technology. This vital support role multitasks as a programmer, IT analyst, basic IT support, and hardware/software implementation/installation technician.
Effectively, this role works as part of the IPS Field IT team – and in conjunction with the IPS Corporate IT team – to plan, support and implement all necessary IT changes, trouble-shooting, and upgrades both proactively through planned project work, and also reactively in order to maintain field operations.
· Setup, Build, maintain and repair Field PCs and IT related equipment and systems;
· Provide level I - II helpdesk support.
Education:· Post secondary I.T. certification or diploma.Technical Skills:· Visual Studio experience;o As appropriate, self-development of solutions may be necessary so programming and scripting skills will be a strong asset;· System development knowledge/experience;· Data analysis skills;
· Wireline operational procedures is a significant benefit but not mandatory;
· Personal schedule flexibility – this role will work with the Field IT Team to support and trouble-shoot operational issues both in the shop and in the field. There will be some periodic travel and/or irregular time schedules required in order to maintain operations.
